When I joined Jordan Essentials and saw Aluminum Free Deodorant, I thought that’s interesting…what’s it all about? I then thought about the brand I have been using, from the drugstore, for many years without much thought concerning the ingredients. Then I remembered after doing research about when I had a scare nine years ago and had to have a breast ultrasound and mammogram at age 30. The lump in my armpit was benign and right in the center, which indicated a sweat duct was plugged. However the doctors never mentioned anything about deodorant or the type I was using. Suddenly a “switch flipped on” and the connection was made.
Jordan Essentials has 14 fragrances to choose from, including naturally unscented. I went with the scent I thought would be a safe one, and went with the rest of the line I use; Oatmeal Milk and Honey. Yes I was unsure at first mainly because I have such dry skin this time of the year, but it does the job and it’s healthier!
The formula is European-accepted and is 100% aluminum free. JE deodorant inhibits odor causing bacteria. It is a smooth blend which goes on easily.
You will have some perspiration, however, your body needs to release perspiration.
Interesting Facts:
“Aluminum-based” compounds are used as the active ingredient in
antiperspirants. These compounds form a temporary plug within
the sweat duct that stops the flow of sweat to the skin’s surface.
Some research suggests that aluminum-based compounds, which
are applied frequently and left on the skin near the breast, may be
absorbed by the skin and cause estrogen-like (hormonal)
effects (3). Because estrogen has the ability to promote the growth
of breast cancer cells, some scientists have suggested that the
aluminum-based compounds in antiperspirants may contribute to
the development of breast cancer (3).”

Really? I had NO idea that deodorant contained aluminum!
Thank you for sharing a really interesting article. I will certainly think twice before I buy in future.
Hi Natalie!
I know it was a shocker and I quit using what I was using. One of my relatives who is a nurse said to me “you didn’t know that”? But it all makes sense now. Very scary.
I remember hearing this a while ago, but forgot about it. I had a lump removed two years ago. No one ever said anything to me about deaoderant having aluminum in it. And the lump was on the side and near my armpit. I wonder if it was from my deoderant?
I am going to check this out further. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Me too. I never thought about it and doing a little reading up on it made sense. But just the thought of putting “aluminum” on my skin doesn’t sound good.
